Caroline is currently a Doctor of Clinical Psychology trainee at the University of Prince Edward Island. She holds a MA in Counselling Psychology from McGill University, a MA in Women and Gender Studies from Saint Mary’s University, and a BA in Psychology from Mount Allison University. Caroline is further certified in the parent-based treatment program, Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).

Caroline’s services include psychoeducational assessment and counselling. She has both counselling and assessment experience, taking a strength-based approach to her work. Caroline has worked with couples, parents, individuals, and students. She takes a collaborative and supportive approach to her work, employing evidence-based modalities. With a view to optimizing the outcome, Caroline tailors her approach to suit her individual client’s needs and goals.

Born and raised in Montreal, Caroline has a Maritime heart and has always enjoyed spending time there with family. She elected to complete most of her post-secondary education on PEI, and the Island is where she intends to live and practice.

Lisa graduated from UPEI in 2001 with a BSc. in Psychology, where she also worked as a Research Assistant and Assistant Project Coordinator. She returned to Calgary shortly afterwards and worked for 18 years in various hospitals and programs. She began working in neuropsychological assessment and research coordination at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in 2003, with traumatic brain injury, oncology, and epilepsy populations. In 2007, Lisa moved on to working in mental health with adults and also inpatient psychiatry with adolescents in psychological assessment as well as program coordination. Lisa also has training in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and holds a coaching certification through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She moved back to PEI in 2021, and is happy to be working with children, adolescents, and adults to provide much needed psychological and psychoeducational assessments.

Dr. Brent is a registered psychologist in Alberta, BC, PEI, Nova Scotia, the Yukon, and Northwest Territories, and provides assessment and counselling services, both online and through onsite clinics, in all of these jurisdictions. He has over 20 years of experience working with individuals with a variety of complex learning profiles. He has taught at the junior and senior high school level and was the assistant principal at an independent school for students with learning disabilities.

Dr. Brent is an assistant professor with the Department of Psychology at UPEI and has been a sessional instructor in the Departments of Psychology, Health, Community & Education, and Continuing Education at Mount Royal University and in the Faculty of Education at Acadia University. He is also an adjunct assistant professor with the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary.

Born and raised on Prince Edward Island, Dr. Macdonald holds a BA from UPEI, along with a BEd from Saint Mary’s University, a MA in School Psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University, and a PhD in Applied Psychology (Counselling) from the University of Calgary. He has presented at local, national, and international conferences and is a frequent guest on Global Morning and Global Newshour, Breakfast Television, CBC Radio and Television, and CTV2’s Alberta Primetime. Dr. Macdonald has also served as a director of the Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta – Calgary Chapter and was the Canadian Representative to the State and Provincial Leadership Committee with the American Psychological Association. He was also the Alberta Representative to the Public Education Committee, also with the American Psychological Association, and is the past Chair of the Psychologist’s Association of Alberta’s (PAA) Public Education Committee. He currently sits as a Practice Advisor with PAA and served for many years on the Oral Examination Committee with the College of Alberta Psychologists.

Dr. Macdonald is a highly sought-after lecturer and speaker and has provided professional development for individual schools, school districts, and businesses on mental toughness, anxiety, complex learners, and other topics of interest.
