Monica is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a certified teacher. Monica holds a BA from Cape Breton University, a BEd from St. Francis Xavier University, and a Master of Counselling from Gonzaga University.
She has 20 years of experience supporting youth and their families in a variety of educational and community contexts. Her experience in public education is diverse, working with students from kindergarten through grade 12. She is currently a high school principal in an outreach setting. Her psychology experience includes counselling, formal assessment, and intervention.
In her practice she utilizes a holistic, integrative approach to ensure the unique needs of each client are met. She enjoys supporting others to build collective capacity and has presented to educators and other youth-focused professionals on topics such as building adolescent resiliency, supporting anxious learners, and advancing trauma-informed educational practice. Monica has been with Onward Psychology Group since 2018 and currently provides assessment services during evenings, weekends, and school holidays.

Stephen is a registered psychologist who utilizes an eclectic, person-centred, and strengths-based approach, in order to help clients to utilize their strengths and find motivation to accomplish their goals and thrive. He has experience assisting individuals struggling with concerns related to ADHD, anxiety, depression, identity, low self-esteem, mental toughness, motivation, and suicidality. He tailors his approach to each individual that he works with and has worked with a wide range of clients, including children and young adults with anxiety, depression, self-injury, and other areas of concern. Stephen is highly skilled at helping individuals develop their resiliency and competencies related to emotional regulation and executive functioning. Stephen has a Master’s degree from the Counselling Psychology program at the University of Calgary and also holds a BA in Psychology from Mount Royal University. He has over 9 years experience helping children, young adults, and families to improve their functioning and meet their needs and goals, including more than 2 years experience with formal counselling and assessment as a registered provisional psychologist. This includes working in residential programs, counselling in partnership with the Ministry of Children’s Services, and coordinating an alternative school program for high-risk youth.
